Project Director

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Project Director for a full-time position. This role holds overall responsibility for directing multiple projects simultaneously or a single high-volume project. The Project Director sets overall objectives, establishes and manages all planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, contractor performance, resource and safety management, and provides technical direction to ensure timely compliance with all standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Director is principally accountable for providing clear direction on strategic goals, translating these into business and performance measures, and ensuring projects deliver outstanding and efficient client-driven service. Specific duties include:

• Managing the overall planning, coordination, and control of projects to ensure functional and financial viability and meet client requirements.
• Developing and implementing cost-effective plans and processes for all project phases.
• Managing quality control procedures across all related activities.
• Overseeing the execution of planning software to track variations, disruptions, and associated impacts.
• Monitoring all activities regularly and ensuring proper meetings and coordination among teams for deliverables, inspections, and sign-offs.
• Overseeing engineering design and supervision aspects.
• Maintaining overall cost control by evaluating and advising on actions to determine cost efficiency and capability.
• Establishing and maintaining cost allocation schedules throughout the project duration, with periodic reporting to management and clients.
• Determining procurement targets in relation to all direct and indirect project costs and schedules.
• Ensuring proper utilization of cost control measures for all expenditures and tracking variations.
• Strategizing approaches to ensure project earnings.

Leadership and Management

This role involves significant leadership and management responsibilities, including:

• Participating in the development and completion of all project tender processes.
• Managing all allocations of assets and liabilities over project phases, including subcontractor payments, bonding requirements, and project cash flows, ensuring proper establishment in the ERP system for consistent payments.
• Leading in the identification, control, assessment, minimization, or elimination of all possible project risks and hazards.
• Leading the team and overseeing all Human Resources processes and procedures, including personnel planning, staff evaluation, and dispute management.
• Leading the management of commercial and cost planning, value engineering, contract administration, and estimations by quantifying, strategizing, and reconciling project-related claims.
• Supporting the implementation of HSE initiatives, participating in safety awareness activities, and contributing to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.
