About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Reliability & Asset Integrity Engineer to join the Power Systems Reliability & Asset Management Division (R&AMD) under the Power Systems Projects & Technical Support Department (PSP&TSD). This full-time role involves providing support, consultation, guidance, and assistance to Power Systems operating areas and projects, including engineering analysis and ensuring adherence to Reliability & Asset Integrity Management standards.

Department Overview

The Power Systems Projects & Technical Support Department (PSP&TSD) provides specialized technical support for High Voltage (HV) Electrical Equipment to Power Operations. The R&AMD is responsible for administering Power Systems engineering studies, equipment life cycle management, reliability assessments, equipment failure analysis, digital transformation, and maintenance strategy reviews and enhancements. These efforts ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient power supply for the company's hydrocarbon production and other support facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) model for electrical substations and the distribution network, utilizing metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and bad actors.
  • Apply Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles to enhance maintenance strategies and analyze equipment performance data, including historical, manufacturer, and maintenance information (*, FMECA). Utilize specialized software for system behavior modeling and simulation to predict potential failures and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Develop, manage, update, and monitor the implementation of short and long-term asset management policies, strategies, initiatives, and work plans for power system assets, ensuring alignment with the overall company Strategic Asset Management Program.
  • Manage Power Systems-owned Substations by deploying the Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS) Program.
  • Administrate the Power Systems Signature Based Condition Assessment Program.
  • Develop and manage single point of failure assessments to sustain power supply in the event of equipment failure.
  • Perform asset failure trending and analysis to identify repetitive failures and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Utilize SAP Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) to document and track unreliability events and opportunities for reliability improvements.
  • Supervise the documentation and development of asset inventory for each class of assets, including asset condition, level of service and performance, risk signature, maintenance strategies, repair/replacement models, financial forecasts, and tactical and work plans.
  • Support the development of asset replacement business cases.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical Industry, or Power Utility sector, specifically in Power Systems Reliability & Asset Integrity Management working on High Voltage Electrical Equipment.
  • Familiarity with reliability programs such as RAM, RCM, RMS, MTBF, and Bad Actors, including SAP system or equivalent computerized systems.
  • Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Reliability Engineer (CRE), TapRooT Analyst, or 6 Sigma Certification is preferred.
