The Role: Senior Development Lead - Full Stack Microservices

CodeNinja is seeking a Senior Development Lead with over 10 years of experience for a full-time position. This role requires strong expertise in Low-Level Design (LLD), Java Spring Boot, Microservices, API development and security, and React JS. The Senior Development Lead will function as a player-coach, leading the development team while maintaining deep involvement in architecture discussions, LLD, coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical delivery. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with team leadership to drive the development of scalable, secure, and high-quality applications.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and development of complex applications and digital platforms.
Translate high-level architecture and business requirements into detailed Low-Level Designs (LLD), including component design, service boundaries, data models, API contracts, and error handling.
Design and develop scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices and lead the development of RESTful APIs and backend services.
Apply best practices across Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA/Hibernate, database integration, and event-driven architecture.
Design secure, scalable, production-grade APIs, defining request/response contracts, validation rules, and versioning.
Provide technical leadership for React JS front-end development, including scalable UI components and front-end architecture.
Actively contribute to coding for critical, complex, or high-priority features.
Lead and mentor a team of developers across backend and frontend technologies, breaking down requirements into technical tasks and tracking progress.
Ensure deliverables meet quality, security, performance, and scalability standards, supporting SIT/UAT defect resolution and production readiness.
Collaborate with Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA, DevOps, Security, and Integration teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience

8–12+ years of software development experience, with significant depth in Java/Spring Boot and microservices.
At least 3+ years in a Technical Lead / Development Lead role, with proven experience leading teams while remaining hands-on.
Strong experience delivering enterprise-scale digital applications and API-driven platforms in Agile/Scrum environments.
Demonstrated Low-Level Design capability and excellent code review discipline.
Ability to independently translate requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to mentor and technically guide developers.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
Experience with RESTful APIs, API Gateway, and API security (OAuth , OpenID Connect, JWT, RBAC).
Strong understanding of front-end development with React JS.
Familiarity with JPA/Hibernate, database integration, distributed transactions, caching, and event-driven architecture.
Experience with logging, monitoring, alerting, and error handling for production-ready applications.
