About the Role

Oil Support Services is seeking a Shipping Crude Officer to manage the loading and logistics of crude oil for tanker shipments. This full-time position is based in the Eastern Province and requires 5-10 years of experience in a related field. The role ensures safe and efficient operations, coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the loading of crude oil for tanker shipments, overseeing all logistical aspects.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient execution of all shipping operations.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, operators, tanker crew, and port authorities.
  • Follow all relevant section policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to maintain controlled and consistent work.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations within the Crude Section to ensure work continuity.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports for the section, adhering to company requirements, policies, and standards.
  • Comply with all relevant safety, health, and environmental procedures to maintain a healthy and safe work environment.

Duties and Operational Management

  • Plan and coordinate crude oil shipments, including necessary documentation, permits, and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations governing crude oil transportation, such as safety, environmental, and customs requirements.
  • Manage daily crude shipment operations, including loading, unloading, monitoring quantities and quality, and metering to prevent ship-shore differences.
  • Manage risks associated with shipments, ensuring proper certification and considering weather conditions.
  • Communicate with stakeholders such as terminal operators, vessel operators, customers, and regulatory authorities to ensure timely and efficient cargo delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of crude oil transfers, schedules, shipping documents, and manifests.

Internal and External Relationships

This role involves significant communication and collaboration. Internally, the officer will work with the Mooring Master, Shipping Agents, Petroleum Inspectors, and the Production Department. Externally, interactions will include tankers, government entities, and other relevant parties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in crude oil shipping or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and customs regulations pertaining to crude oil transportation.
  • Proficiency in preparing accurate and timely reports.
