The company plays a key role in developing the mining industry as a pillar of Saudi Arabia’s economy, establishing a world-class, integrated mining value chain. We are seeking a Superintendent, Mine Planning to contribute to our operations in a full-time capacity.

Role Purpose

The Superintendent, Mine Planning is responsible for developing and maintaining short-term, medium-term, and life-of-mine plans. This role involves close coordination with Geology, Mining Operations, Processing, and Technical Services to ensure alignment with production and business targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans in collaboration with relevant technical and operational functions.
• Produce and review mine designs, production schedules, extraction sequences, and development plans to optimize resource utilization, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate with the Geology department to integrate resource models, reserve updates, and grade control information into planning and production forecasts.
• Monitor actual mining performance against approved plans, analyze variances, identify constraints and risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct mine optimization studies and evaluate mining methods, equipment requirements, and operational strategies to maximize resource recovery and minimize operating costs.
• Drive continuous improvement opportunities within mine planning processes, systems, and technologies.
• Prepare annual operating plans, production forecasts, manpower requirements, budgets, and capital expenditure proposals for mine planning and development.
• Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and availability of mine planning data, survey information, and technical reports.
• Lead technical studies, feasibility assessments, mine expansion plans, and resource utilization reports.
• Review and approve planning deliverables, technical reports, designs, and schedules against company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Supervise Mine Planning personnel, providing technical guidance and coaching, and deploying department resources effectively.
• Implement HSE requirements in planning activities and participate in risk assessments and incident investigations.

Expected Outcomes

• Ensure short-, medium-, and life-of-mine plans align with approved production and business objectives.
• Deliver accurate, available, and compliant mine designs, schedules, forecasts, and technical reports according to company and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and address planning variances, constraints, and risks through timely corrective recommendations.
• Improve resource recovery, operating efficiency, and cost effectiveness through mine planning activities, while meeting HSE requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in mine planning within the mining industry.
