TPE IV / Senior Cathodic Protection Engineer

About the Role

Wood is seeking a TPE IV / Senior Cathodic Protection Engineer to support a full-time project in Saudi Arabia. This role requires a professional with 10+ years of experience as a Cathodic Protection Technologist (NACE CP Level 3) and proven expertise in the design of Cathodic Protection systems for various industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform design for Cathodic Protection (CP) systems in Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon refinery, offshore, mining, and petrochemical projects during FEED and detailed design phases.
• Prepare CP design drawings and documents in accordance with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, and Maaden standards for pipelines, tanks, well casings, and in-plant underground metallic equipment.
• Prepare Scope of Work (SOW), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), Technical Bid Clarifications (TBC), Material Requisitions (MR), Non-Material Requisitions (NMR) review, and other CP bidding documentation.
• Attend pre-design Kick-Off Meetings (KOM) with clients and present CP design approaches for new projects.
• Prepare site visit agendas and checklists.
• Review and verify engineering deliverables against company procedures, standards, and checklists.
• Coordinate with other disciplines as necessary for the preparation and development of deliverables, ensuring the incorporation of all relevant inputs.
• Collect site data required for cathodic protection design of well casings, AC mitigation, and pipelines, including EM34/31 usage.
• Conduct all necessary site measurements for CP design, such as potential data of existing structures, existing CP system parameters, and current measurements with flow direction.
• Ensure adherence to all safety requirements as per company policy.
• Perform site installation and supervision, as well as CP system start-up, testing, and commissioning.
• Manage the submission of deliverables with required quality checks and proper record management.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Cathodic Protection Technologist (NACE CP Level 3), with a background in engineering consulting, EPC, and contracting companies.
• Ability to perform site investigation, prepare site survey reports, CP layouts, CP alignment sheets, cable routing layouts, schematic drawings, installation drawings, demolition drawings, and CP design calculations.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience working on Saudi Aramco projects, both onshore and offshore, primarily within design consultancies or GES+ companies.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in CP design preparation for well casings, tanks, pipelines, and vessels, with familiarity with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, and Maaden CP standards.
• Proficient knowledge of AMPP standards.
• Hands-on experience using various CP survey equipment in the field, including soil resistivity meters, current measurement devices, AC & DC potential data collection tools, and CP system operating parameter collection equipment.
• Basic knowledge of MicroStation operations.
• Basic knowledge of CP design preparation.
• Possession of a Saudi driving license and driving experience.
