Welder API A Product

About the Role

SRG is seeking an experienced Welder API 6A Product to join its oil & gas manufacturing team. This full-time role involves executing corrosion-resistant cladding and ensuring strict compliance with welding procedures on critical pressure-vessel components. The successful candidate will collaborate with NDT inspectors to deliver flawless, code-compliant welds.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality welding and corrosion-resistant cladding/inlays on wellhead components, flanges, and valves in accordance with API Spec 6A.
• Read, interpret, and adhere to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Prepare, clean, bevel, and fit up joints to ensure proper penetration and alignment before welding.
• Apply SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW techniques on carbon steel and specialty alloys such as Inconel, stainless steel, and duplex.
• Control pre-heat, interpass temperatures, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) as required for API 6A material classes.
• Conduct visual inspections of welds to verify zero surface defects prior to NDT testing.
• Assist NDT inspectors with radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and penetrant testing, and perform precise weld repairs when necessary.
• Maintain welding machines, holding ovens, and tools, ensuring all gauges are calibrated and equipment is in optimal condition.
• Document welding activities, inspection results, and repair actions in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Promote safety and quality best practices within the welding team and across the department.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in welding, specifically with API 6A products. A strong understanding of welding procedures and quality standards is essential for this role.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW welding techniques.
• Experience with carbon steel and specialty alloys including Inconel, stainless steel, and duplex.
• Ability to interpret and follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Knowledge of pre-heat, interpass temperatures, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) for API 6A material classes.
• Familiarity with various NDT testing methods.

Work Environment
