Al-Babtain Industrial Group established Al Babtain Biscuit Manufacturing & Food Stuff Company Limited (ABISCO) in 1983, leveraging extensive experience in manufacturing, marketing, and management. It is recognized as the first food manufacturing plant within the Group, established to serve the food market in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. The company aims to be a leader in these markets by manufacturing biscuits and other food products, aligning with the Kingdom's self-sufficiency food program. Through a comprehensive expansion plan, the factory underwent various development stages to meet increasing market demand, starting in early 1984 with a wide range of high-quality biscuits, crackers, and cookies under different brands. In 1987, ABISCO successfully installed new high-tech machinery to produce various shapes and sizes of macaroni and vermicelli. Subsequently, a spaghetti manufacturing plant was added to complete its pasta range under the “Al Maedah” Brand. Additionally, dry mix lines were installed to produce products such as Jelly Crystals, Crème Caramel, Instant Drink Mixes, Cake Mixes, and other powdered products, with the vision of competing with local and international brands in Saudi and global markets.
