The Water Transmission Company (WTCO) is an independent entity wholly owned by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, established by Cabinet Decision No. (32) on September 10, 2019 (corresponding to 11 Muharram 1441H). It represents the Supervisory Authority for the Privatization of the Environment, Water, and Agriculture Sector. The company's establishment is a key outcome of the Privatization Program, supporting Saudi Vision 2030 and aligning with the National Water Strategy's objectives. WTCO aims to position the Kingdom as a leader in water transmission and storage, contributing to long-term water security. The company is responsible for the management, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of water transmission, storage, and conveyance systems across various regions of the Kingdom. It operates under a commercially driven model to enhance asset efficiency, reduce costs, ensure service sustainability, and meet supply requirements to strengthen water security in the Kingdom. WTCO is also committed to qualifying and developing national talent to reinforce the Kingdom's leadership in water transmission and storage.
