The States of Guernsey, officially known as the States of Deliberation, is the parliament and government of the British Crown dependency of Guernsey. It is the official legislative and governing body for the Island of Guernsey and other inhabited Channel Islands such as Alderney, Sark, and Herm. The States of Guernsey exercises legislative powers over internal matters including taxation, education, health, and infrastructure. It operates on a committee system and consists of 38 People's Deputies who are elected every four years.
