About the Role

Baraya Extended Care is seeking a Medical Record & Coder to join our healthcare team in Abha, 'Asir. This full-time role is essential for maintaining accurate and confidential patient medical records, ensuring correct medical coding to support billing, compliance, and revenue cycle operations. The position requires 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Role Overview

The Medical Record & Coder is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of patient data and medical coding. This involves meticulous record-keeping and adherence to coding standards to facilitate smooth billing processes and regulatory compliance within the healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation through coordination with physicians and nursing staff.
• Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes in compliance with coding standards and payer requirements.
• Support billing and revenue cycle teams by providing correct coding information.
• Identify and correct documentation or coding discrepancies.
• Assist in resolving insurance claim denials related to documentation or coding issues.
• Ensure confidentiality, security, and proper release of medical records.
• Support audits, inspections, and accreditation requirements, such as those from CBAHI.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations and healthcare documentation standards.
• Report documentation or coding issues to management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in medical records and coding.
