About the Role

Alfanar is seeking an Accountant General to join its finance team in Al Jubail. This full-time position is central to managing bookkeeping and overseeing all accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial operations. The role requires a professional with significant experience in general accounting practices.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise the processing of supplier invoices, ensuring accurate 3-way matching and compliance with tax and company policies.
• Oversee timely vendor payments, manage vendor inquiries, and monitor accruals and prepayments to align expenses with accounting periods.
• Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger with vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Manage customer invoicing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
• Evaluate customer creditworthiness, manage receivables to minimize bad debt, and implement effective collection procedures for overdue payments.
• Reconcile customer accounts and analyze aging reports to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Handle accounting for fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Prevent inventory shrinkage and periodically track and verify company assets.
• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions and reconciling balance sheet accounts to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and provide support during external audits.
• Assist with budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and identify potential financial risks.
• Contribute to improving accounting processes for enhanced efficiency and compliance with local regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Accountant General position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar accounting role. A strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting regulations is essential for success in this role.
