Lab Quality & Management System Manager

About the Role

Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) is seeking a Lab Quality & Management System Manager to lead and manage all quality system requirements and shared support services for Laboratory & OSA Processes. This full-time position is based in Al Jubail, Eastern Region, and involves ensuring full compliance with Quality & HSE Management systems within the Refinery & PetChem Laboratory & OSA.

Role Purpose and Context

The Lab Quality & Management System Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a best-in-class Management System, aligned with international standards and best practices. This role provides essential support to the Refinery & PetChem Laboratory & OSA team, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to all quality and safety protocols. The manager will also assist the Lab & OSA Chief with various assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the development of Quality policies, manuals, procedures, and objectives for the LAB & OSA Department, ensuring an effective Quality Management System.
• Implement up-to-date international laboratory quality systems, including independent audits of working areas and workflows to ensure full compliance.
• Manage the accreditation process for ISO-17025 for both Refinery & Petrochemical Labs, focusing on management system aspects.
• Lead and manage compliance requirements for other ISO standards such as ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and ISO-45001.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements, including safety meetings, MSWT, QSIs, fire drills, and incident follow-up.
• Collaborate with Refinery Laboratory & OSA Manager and PetChem Laboratory & OSA Manager to ensure Quality Management System compliance and support performance goals.
• Assist the Laboratory & OSA Chief in monitoring Laboratory & OSA KPIs and objectives.
• Conduct periodic management review meetings.
• Manage and lead the business continuity strategy and operational excellence for the Laboratory & OSA department.
• Coordinate with Refinery & PetChem Laboratory & OSA Manager to ensure staff competency compliance for all activities, including JTS and IDPs.
• Provide support for finished product specification management and communication with the Marketing team.
• Lead and manage quality claims from customers, including required Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
• Assist in ensuring smooth daily Lab & OSA operations in line with overall objectives.
• Support the Laboratory & OSA Chief in building and reviewing OPEX and CAPEX Business Plans.
• Manage document control for Laboratory & OSA.
• Manage Laboratory & OSA contracts and procurement processes.
• Lead other shared and support services, such as buildings management and LIMS management.
• Follow up on digitalization requirements for Laboratory & OSA processes.
• Assess manpower needs and recommend plans to the Lab & OSA Chief.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Experience: A minimum of 12 years of experience in a refinery or petrochemical laboratory and/or Quality Management System. This includes at least five years in Refinery or Petrochemical Quality Management within the oil, gas, and petrochemicals industrial or applied research laboratories.

This is a full-time position located in Al Jubail, Eastern Region, within the Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP). The role involves working closely with various laboratory and operational teams to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
