Role Summary: Superintendent, Reliability

Nama Chemicals Co. is seeking a Superintendent, Reliability to lead its reliability section. This full-time position is central to driving the performance and availability of plant equipment by implementing effective strategies and programs. The Superintendent will play a crucial role in enhancing equipment reliability and minimizing downtime through collaboration with cross-functional teams, conducting root cause analysis, and optimizing maintenance strategies.

Core Responsibilities

• Establish proactive asset management practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs, to minimize equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment reliability issues through corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate recurring issues and enhance equipment reliability.
• Analyze equipment performance data and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities and optimize maintenance strategies.
• Manage the reliability budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation aligned with organizational goals.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of spare parts and materials for maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on equipment reliability performance, including key metrics, improvement initiatives, and recommendations for management review.

Leadership and Strategic Contributions

• Develop and execute reliability improvement strategies to optimize plant equipment performance.
• Lead and mentor a team of reliability engineers, providing guidance and support for successful implementation of reliability initiatives.
• Implement reliability tools and methodologies, such as failure modes and effects analysis and reliability-centered maintenance, to drive continuous improvement.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in reliability engineering, incorporating them to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
• Ensure alignment of reliability initiatives with environmental, health, and safety standards and regulations, collaborating with the EHS team.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary operations and teams, providing expertise on reliability considerations for equipment upgrades and installations.
• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the reliability knowledge and skills of maintenance and operations personnel.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 13 to 15 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably within the Petrochemical or Chemical industry.
• Additional certifications or training in reliability engineering are highly desirable.
