Teacher Librarian

About the Role

ISG Jubail is seeking a full-time Teacher Librarian in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This role focuses on fostering a love of literacy and providing students with agency in their learning. The ideal candidate will inspire students to become conscientious, compassionate thinkers and global citizens, contributing to the school community beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to child protection and maintain working knowledge of ISG District and library policies.
• Model ISG Guiding Principles and provide leadership to the library team and teaching staff.
• Assist in planning library activities for the library as a whole and with individual classes.
• Supervise day-to-day library operations, including circulation desk management, customer service, student management, and facilities supervision.
• Develop, coordinate, and maintain digital databases for campus use, overseeing eBook processes including the Destiny platform.
• Supervise, direct, train, and manage library staff, assisting in annual appraisals.
• Lead collection development, including material selection, weeding, and inventory, following best practices and current curriculum.
• Foster a culture of reading for learning and pleasure.
• Collaborate with library staff on professional development and student learning planning.
• Work with teachers to plan and deliver lessons aligned with a defined curriculum, including Common Core.
• Coordinate library skill instruction for individual classes or groups.
• Deliver active, hands-on, and child-centered programs to promote learning and literary appreciation.
• Maintain a safe learning environment and respond to diverse student needs.
• Inspire students to engage and lead in a diverse global community, creating an environment where students exercise agency.
• Champion learning and student development across the school, with a focus on engaging, inclusive, and meaningful experiences for younger learners.
• Contribute to the creation and revision of the written curriculum.
• Share interests and passions with students through after-school programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
