Upper Elementary Teacher

About the Role

American School Dhahran (ASD) is seeking a qualified and passionate Upper Elementary Teacher to join its educational program. This full-time position is based in the Eastern region, specifically in Al Khobar and Dhahran, and involves delivering an American-based curriculum to elementary students.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum.
• Deliver an active, hands-on, and student-centered program to promote learning among elementary students.
• Maintain students' attendance records, grades, and other required records.
• Evaluate and grade students' classwork and assignments.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Observe, monitor, and record student progress.
• Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, consulting with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
• Support district and school initiatives with professionalism.
• Demonstrate creativity in teaching approaches.
• Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
• Provide supervision to students in after-school activities or coach/assistant coach an athletic team.
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal or Principal.

Qualifications and Experience

• A qualified elementary teacher with a passion for education.
• Experience level: 2-5 years in a relevant teaching role.

Work Environment

This is a full-time teaching position within an established educational program, focused on delivering an American-based curriculum. The role requires active participation in school life, including committee work and student supervision beyond regular class hours.
