QC Inspector Piping

About the Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a QC Inspector - Piping to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. This full-time, field-based role involves performing inspection and testing of piping fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on piping fabrication and installation works.
• Witness hydrotests, NDE activities (RT/UT/PT/MT), and other required tests as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, and welding against approved isometrics and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Verify materials, spools, and fittings against material certificates and specifications.
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
• Verify the calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
• Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for piping works.
• Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and piping codes, such as ASME *
• Support the preparation of quality documentation for piping handover dossiers.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to perform inspection and testing of piping fabrication and installation.
• Familiarity with isometrics, welding procedures, and applicable codes and standards.

Performance Metrics

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on inspection accuracy and completeness, timely identification and reporting of non-conformances, first-time weld/inspection acceptance rate, adherence to inspection schedules and hold points, and the overall quality of inspection documentation.

Work Environment

This is a field-based position requiring daily presence on active piping work fronts. The role involves exposure to site and construction conditions and may require shift work or extended hours to cover inspection hold points.
