About KBR and the Role

KBR Saudi Arabia is seeking a Team Lead Piping Engineer to join our team in Al Khobar. This full-time position involves leading the design of process and utilities piping systems for critical plant equipment within the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, onshore, and infrastructure industries. The role requires significant experience in FEED and detailed engineering, along with proven leadership capabilities.

Role Purpose and Scope

The primary purpose of this role is to provide effective leadership to a team of approximately 10 to 20 piping engineers and designers. The successful candidate will oversee the design integrity of the piping scope, ensure the performance of assigned staff, and guarantee on-schedule delivery of work within budget. This position is central to medium to large-scale projects, requiring a minimum of 20 years’ experience in FEED and detailed engineering within the specified industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 10 to 20 piping engineers and designers.
• Develop the discipline work plan and the basis of design.
• Estimate work-hours for piping engineering tasks.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team, including clients.
• Participate in technical reviews of plot plans and equipment layout.
• Lead technical presentations to clients and their representatives.
• Ensure the design integrity of the piping scope.
• Manage the performance of assigned staff and ensure on-schedule delivery of work within budget.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in conceptual designs, FEED, and detailed designs of plants and facilities.
• Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, offshore, and/or infrastructure industries.
• A minimum of 20 years’ experience in FEED and detailed engineering of medium to large-scale projects, specifically for the leadership aspect of this role.

This role requires effective collaboration and communication across various stakeholders. The Team Lead Piping Engineer will:

• Maintain a broad understanding of other engineering disciplines' activities.
• Interact regularly with Project Management.
• Engage with Client representatives.
