Fire Fighting & Plumbing Engineer

About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Fire Fighting & Plumbing Engineer to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This full-time role involves overseeing fire protection and plumbing systems across various building and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. The engineer will provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Review Fire Fighting and Plumbing designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings for compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and utility providers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
• Inspect installation works related to fire protection and plumbing systems, ensuring adherence to approved designs and specifications.
• Monitor contractor performance and construction progress, verifying material installations and workmanship quality.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities for fire fighting and plumbing systems, reviewing procedures and performance documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, authorities, and project stakeholders, participating in technical meetings and progress reviews.
• Review and maintain project documentation, including inspection records, technical reports, as-built drawings, and testing records.
• Promote and enforce compliance with project HSE requirements, monitoring safe installation and testing practices on site.

Design Review and Technical Coordination

• Review shop drawings, technical submittals, material approvals, and method statements.
• Identify design conflicts and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Support value engineering initiatives and design optimization efforts.

Site Supervision and Inspection

• Conduct routine site inspections and prepare inspection reports and non-conformance reports as required.
• Ensure construction activities meet project quality standards and schedule requirements.

Testing and Commissioning

• Verify functionality of fire pumps, sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, water supply systems, drainage systems, and related equipment.
• Ensure systems are commissioned in accordance with project requirements and authority regulations.
• Support handover and project closeout activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Fire Fighting & Plumbing engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, local authority regulations, international standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in reviewing and maintaining project documentation.
