About the Opportunity

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a Lead Civil Structure Engineer to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. This full-time role involves leading the Civil/Structural discipline, with a primary focus on structural engineering. The position requires active participation in proposal and bidding processes, providing essential technical support during construction phases, and daily involvement in the engineering phase within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project environment, potentially across single or multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, monitor, and control all engineering activities within the Civil/Structural discipline.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination and support team building initiatives.
• Identify and communicate potential issues or problems to management for timely resolution.
• Actively participate in progress review, technical, client, and vendor meetings.
• Support Procurement activities, including raising Material Requisitions (MR), conducting Technical Bid Clarification/Evaluation (TBC/TBE), and preparing Draft Purchase Requisitions.
• Assist the bidding team by raising Requests for Quotation (RFQs), performing technical evaluation of bids, and preparing cost estimates.
• Provide construction support by responding to site-related technical queries (tQ).
• Review and provide comments on engineering deliverables as required.
• Ensure the safety and quality of all project deliverables.
• Participate in Value Engineering practices such as value engineering studies, lessons learned sessions, Risk Assessment/Management Studies and workshops, and Constructability studies and workshops.
• Contribute to customer satisfaction to enhance company reputation and facilitate repeat business.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Civil Structure Lead.
• Demonstrated experience working on EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.

Technical Expertise

• Comprehensive knowledge of Civil and Structural Discipline requirements within the Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Power, and Water Industries.
• Sound command of Saudi Aramco, SABIC, DEP, Royal Commission Standards, Codes and Practices, and HCISS Standards and Regulations.
• Proficiency in International Codes and Standards such as ACI, ASCE, IBC/UBC, ASTM, JIS, and CSA.
• Experience in the design and review of Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel Systems, including equipment foundations, Pipe Racks, Platforms, buildings, pipe supports, and underground structures.
• Capability in dynamic foundation calculation and study for large rotating equipment (*, pumps, compressors), and structural analysis using STAAD Pro/STAAD Foundation.
• Expertise in Structural Analysis and Foundation Design for Tanks, Spheres, Columns, Reactors, Incinerators, and Flares.
• Ability to perform calculations for Oily water systems and subsequent detailed design.
• Experience in the design and review of Roads, Bridges, and Pipe Culverts.
• Skill in specifying and scoping for various surveys, including Topography, Geotechnical, Underground Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Underground Exploratory Excavation and Trenching, Logistics and Transportation Study, Traffic Study, and Environmental Impact Study.
• Competence in reviewing structural shop fabrication drawings and connection details.
• Sound knowledge of Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation requirements for effective interdisciplinary interface and coordination.
• Active involvement in supporting designers in the development of 3D models using SP3D or equivalent software.

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. The role operates within a dynamic EPC project environment, requiring collaboration across multiple disciplines and projects.
