About the Role

ADES Holding Company is seeking an experienced Offshore Installation Manager to join our team in Al Khobar. This full-time role holds superior authority onboard the rig, encompassing responsibility for operational safety, efficiency, drilling integrity, and client relations. The Manager is tasked with implementing and upholding stringent safety standards to prevent injuries, preserve life, and protect equipment, while also ensuring full compliance with environmental requirements. This position provides critical onboard leadership and direction to department leaders, ensuring client drilling program requirements are met within company procedures and the allocated rig budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and supervise drilling, marine, and maintenance department activities to ensure effective management and command functions in compliance with company procedures.
  • Communicate with the Rig Manager to review and discuss the client’s projected well program before and during operations.
  • Manage and review the execution of the drilling program in coordination with the Client Representative and rig department heads through daily operations plans (IADC logs).
  • Make decisions with department heads regarding equipment utilization, ensuring the rig and support equipment are properly maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Ensure the optimum quantity of rig supplies, parts, materials, fuel, lubricants, and potable water are onboard for the drilling program.
  • Determine when to cease or resume operations, as per company procedures and in cooperation with the Rig Manager.
  • Plan, approve, and supervise rig activities such as equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, repairs, daily maintenance of drilling fluids, and rigging up or down, ensuring minimal loss of time or effort.
  • Maintain proper logs and records, promptly submitting required reports as per company protocols and regulatory standards, including daily drilling, equipment status, and incident reports.
  • Provide clear instructions to the team regarding duties, responsibilities, and necessary safety precautions.
  • Mentor, develop, and train the team to ensure safe and effective operations, identifying opportunities for skill and career advancement.
  • Support, promote, and actively participate in ADES’s Competency Assurance Program for the team.
  • Evaluate team performance with constant and fair feedback, identify areas for improvement, and drive the ADVANCE process to formalize a performance management culture.
  • Oversee catering staff, ensuring proper hygiene in food quality, storage, and preparation, cleanliness of kitchen and accommodation, hospital upkeep, medical care, suitable drinking water, and laundry facilities.

Marine and Rig Move Operations

  • Plan operations with the Marine department for all related rig move activities, equipment, supplies, personnel mooring, station keeping, and stability, in compliance with the rig's Marine Operations Procedures.
  • Assess new drilling locations, considering factors such as water depth, seabed conditions, weather, setup location, and proximity to infrastructure.
  • Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the rig move.
  • Ensure the rig complies with Flag State and certifying Regulatory Bodies requirements.
  • Coordinate with vessel operators, tugboat crews, and support teams for efficient execution of the rig move.
  • Supervise and monitor rig positioning and anchor mooring or preloading and leg penetration during rig movement and placement.

Emergency Management and Client Engagement

  • Act as the command team leader during emergency situations, leading the Rig’s emergency response teams as detailed in the Emergency Plan and Company Procedures.
  • Ensure all personnel are instructed in emergency procedures, and that Well Control and general safety drills are held and recorded in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Act as the primary client contact onboard the rig for all service provision related matters.
  • Communicate regularly with the client representative onsite to ensure clear understanding of priorities and plans, promoting good client relations.
  • Represent the Company professionally, upholding confidentiality of Company and client business both during and outside of work hours.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other department heads, supervisors, operator's representatives, subcontractors, and all personnel on the rig.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Minimum educational level: High School or Vocational/Technical Qualification.
  • Certifications as per ADES Training Matrix.
  • Valid Well Control (Well Sharp / IADC) Certificate.
  • Valid MODU OIM Licenses.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 15+ years of working experience in drilling and workover operations with renowned drilling contractors.
  • A career history demonstrating time served as Driller, Day Tool Pusher, and Night Tool Pusher.
  • Minimum previous experience of Two (2) years as a Senior Tool Pusher or OIM.
