Senior Field Civil Engineer Ras Al Khair

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Senior Field Civil Engineer to support active construction across multiple project areas in Ras Al Khair, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves leading civil and structural field engineering activities in accordance with approved standards and client requirements.

Project Overview: Jubail Industrial City

The Jubail project, located in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, is a significant civil engineering undertaking managed by Bechtel since the mid-1970s. Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company (SABCO) serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC) for the Royal Commission, overseeing design submissions from local architect/engineering firms and managing construction work performed by local contractors in Jubail and Ras Al-Khair Industrial Cities. The project's scope, renewed until June 2026, includes developing new residential communities, iconic buildings, major site preparation, commercial facilities, and extensive infrastructure such as utility services, roads, and port expansions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural field engineering activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, client requirements, and applicable standards.
• Provide technical oversight for earthworks, grading, excavation, piling, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, underground utilities, roads, drainage, and marine works.
• Review technical submittals, shop drawings, FCDs, RFIs/TQs, method statements, inspection and test plans, material requests, and construction work packages.
• Resolve complex field issues and manage interfaces across Engineering, Construction, Quality, Procurement, Commissioning, Operations, 3rd Parties, and the Customer.
• Coordinate interfaces across various disciplines including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, Construction, Quality, Procurement, Commissioning, and client teams.
• Support constructability reviews, work packaging, risk assessments, field change control, sequencing, schedule recovery, testing, punch-list closure, and turnover.
• Conduct constructability reviews for designs at various life cycle stages (*, 30/60/90%).
• Perform Quality Surveillance Inspections, including report production and follow-up on closures.
• Monitor contractor execution and ensure compliance with ESH, quality, contractual, and project requirements.
• Mentor field engineering personnel and promote accountability, collaboration, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Knowledge of 3rd Party testing on civil materials.
• Knowledge of plant operations related to Concrete and Asphalt.
