Electrical Technician

About the Role

Acwa is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team in Al Khafji, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves carrying out maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities on the plant’s electrical machinery and equipment. The position requires 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the effective functionality and reliability of electrical systems by adhering to standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards. The Electrical Technician will work closely with the Electrical Supervisor, Engineers, and Supervisors in the Maintenance section, as well as the Operations Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily electrical maintenance and routine preventative electrical maintenance according to schedule and NOMAC procedures.
• Monitor the physical condition of equipment, reporting non-conformances to the Electrical Supervisor.
• Respond to electrical failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize equipment functionality.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues, including diagnosing, repairing, and testing circuit or wiring faults, and locating cable faults.
• Diagnose causes of electrical malfunction or failure in operational equipment such as transformers, motors, relays, switches, and control devices, taking corrective measures in collaboration with the Electrical Supervisor.
• Interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment to specifications, maintaining records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
• Check stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control.
• Update maintenance logbooks with details of work performed, including defaults, problems, findings, and equipment conditions.
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard maintenance procedures, and instructions.
• Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental procedures and controls.
• Perform any other duties as required by the line manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical malfunctions.
• Strong understanding of HSE guidelines and quality standards in maintenance.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Khafji, Saudi Arabia, requiring close collaboration with internal teams within the Maintenance section and Operations.
