Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating )

About the Role

Penspen is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) to join its engineering team. This full-time position is based in Al Khafji, Eastern region, and is integral to a major Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project. The role requires leading rotating equipment engineering activities and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Role Context and Project Focus

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key contributor to significant oil and gas projects, specifically within the FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases. Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards and prior experience in major brownfield FEED/EPC projects will be considered an advantage for candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead rotating equipment engineering activities across FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases for oil & gas projects.
• Develop data sheets, specifications, and requisitions for various rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, turbines, blowers, and packaged systems.
• Review vendor offers, perform technical bid evaluations, and participate in vendor meetings and design reviews.
• Ensure all work complies with API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant international standards.
• Coordinate with process, piping, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines to ensure seamless equipment integration.
• Review vendor documents such as GA drawings, datasheets, and performance curves, ensuring timely approval.
• Provide technical support during the procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and design review workshops.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Support client and internal audits, ensuring adherence to project quality and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically with rotating equipment.
• Proven experience in leading engineering activities for oil & gas projects.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards is advantageous.
• Experience in major brownfield FEED/EPC projects is beneficial.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within Penspen's engineering team, focused on a major FEED project. The role is based in Al Khafji, Eastern region.
