Shift leader

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a full-time Shift Leader to join their team in Riyadh and Ad Dir'iyah. This role involves overseeing various operational and maintenance tasks, ensuring guest satisfaction, and supporting management in team development. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment, recommending replacements as needed.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters, and identify/operate all shut-off valves.
• Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies, maintaining inventory and purchase order logs.
• Inspect tools, equipment, or machines and use computers for work-related information.
• Operate power lifts and complete life safety checklists, including fire-pump and generator run tests.
• Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems, and assist in developing disaster response protocols.
• Respond to and attend to guest repair requests promptly.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure a clean and professional appearance, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and acknowledge guests according to company standards.
• Anticipate and address guest service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards, and identify/implement ways to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, visually inspect equipment, and perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and moving on stairs/ramps.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
• Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None required.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to visually inspect tools and equipment, reach overhead and below the knees (including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping), move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. It also involves grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and moving up and down stairs and/or service ramps.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh and Ad Dir'iyah, where the Shift Leader will perform duties as requested by Supervisors, ensuring operational excellence and guest satisfaction within the Marriott International standards.
