Senior Technician Mechanical

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Senior Technician, Mechanical to join their team in Dammam. This full-time role involves executing maintenance activities and fabrication jobs within a steel plant environment, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards. The position requires a professional with significant industrial experience, particularly within a steel melt shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Work according to job instructions provided by the Foreman/Supervisor, applying acquired skills effectively.
• Prioritize personal safety and the safety of others in all tasks.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards set by the department and company.
• Assist shift and general shift teams in all maintenance activities as a team member.
• Execute fabrication and installation tasks, including steel plant water-cooled panels, ducts, platforms, and staircases.

Professional Competencies

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with various fabrication jobs relevant to steel plants.
• Ability to lead a team effectively.
• Proficiency in gas cutting, plasma cutting, and all types of welding methods (ARC, TIG, MIG) specific to Steel Melt Shops.

Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E)

• Understand and adhere to organizational HS&E policies and job-related safety instructions.
• Report damaged Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unsafe machines, or equipment to relevant staff.
• Ensure provided PPEs are kept in good, workable condition.
• Avoid horseplay and misuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the responsible personnel.
• Attend planned safety trainings.
• Exercise the right to refuse any unsafe work.
• Observe equipment in the maintenance area, report issues, and take corrective actions in communication with superiors.

Qualifications and Experience

• For expatriate candidates: 10 years of schooling plus a 2-year Industrial Technical Institute Course in mechanical disciplines (Fabricator/Craftsman/Fitter/Technician).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of industrial experience, with at least 5 years specifically in a steel melt shop.
