About Veolia Water Technologies and the Role

We are seeking a Manager EPP to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region, on a full-time basis.

Role Overview

The Manager EPP will own the overall contractual and commercial strategy for projects, advising senior leadership on positioning, risk exposure, and entitlement across all major issues. This role involves leading the interpretation of complex contractual provisions, anticipating project-wide risks, and shaping mitigation strategies. The Manager EPP will also represent Veolia Water Technologies' contractual position to clients and consortium partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the interpretation of complex contractual provisions and set strategic direction for client responses.
• Act as the primary contractual point of contact with clients and consortium partners, leading high-stakes negotiations on variations and claims.
• Oversee all contractual correspondence, notices, and formal communications in accordance with contract requirements (*, FIDIC).
• Direct the preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of Variation Orders / Change Orders, ensuring proper substantiation of cost and time impact.
• Lead the development of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and associated cost claims, ensuring alignment with contractual entitlement.
• Identify contractual risks at both project and consortium levels, advising Project Leadership on mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and administration of subcontracts, ensuring back-to-back alignment with main contract terms.
• Lead and mentor Project Managers and Engineers, building team capability in claims preparation, negotiation, and contract administration.
• Provide senior leadership and client-facing reporting on contractual status, claims strategy, variation status, and risk exposure.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Executive-level communication and presence to represent contractual positions credibly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
• Advanced negotiation skills, with sound judgment on balancing firm entitlement protection with relationship preservation.
• Strong strategic and analytical thinking, capable of seeing contractual issues within overall project and commercial objectives.
• Political and organizational awareness, with the ability to navigate multi-party consortium dynamics and sensitive client relationships.
• Ability to lead and develop a contracts team while remaining hands-on for high-value and high-risk project items.
• Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

Experience

• Proven track record leading contractual negotiations directly with client senior leadership and/or consortium partners on major EPC projects.
• Deep working knowledge of international contract forms (*, FIDIC Yellow/Silver Book) and demonstrated experience shaping contractual strategy.
• Demonstrated experience leading the preparation and defense of significant EOT and cost claims, including experience in formal dispute resolution or dispute board proceedings.
• Prior experience managing or mentoring a contracts team is highly desirable.
• Extensive experience working within Middle East regulatory and labor environments (*, Saudi Arabia, GCC) is highly desirable.

Key Relationships

The Manager EPP will engage internally with the Head of Special Projects, Project Director, Engineering Director, Sales / Tenders Director, and various Project and Operations Managers. External interactions will include Client Project Directors and senior leadership, Consortium Partners (JV/EPC partners), Regulatory Bodies, Subvendors / Subcontractors, and External Legal Counsel.
