Role Overview: Mechanical Construction Manager

We are seeking a Mechanical Construction Manager to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves overseeing all site construction aspects of assigned mechanical projects. The manager will be responsible for constructability reviews, schedule planning, resource management, and coordinating all on-site construction tasks to ensure installation quality from project inception to completion. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all project construction team stakeholders and involves day-to-day management of subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Project Manager during execution or Pre-Construction Manager during tender phases.
• Assist the Pre-Construction Manager, MEP Manager, and Estimating Team to ensure robust tendering processes.
• Critique tender documentation and pre-construction project handover documents, identify project risks, and conduct constructability studies.
• Review with the engineering team to ensure all take-offs align with project requirements.
• Prepare and manage labour forecasts, including budgets, to ensure practicality and adherence to agreed budgets.
• Provide discipline and construction input to the project schedule in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare or contribute to subcontractor Scope of Works documentation to capture all scope and mitigate gaps.
• Maintain day-to-day links with client or client consultant construction discipline teams.
• Manage all construction activities as per scope allocation and coordinate with stakeholders to achieve project milestones.
• Coordinate construction work fronts with other discipline Construction Managers for efficient use of site labour and equipment.
• Address all construction design and execution issues in coordination with the MEP Manager and site Engineering Discipline Engineers.
• Track site progress, provide updates, identify schedule risks, and implement contingencies.
• Coordinate material take-off top-ups with engineering, procurement, and site commercial teams.
• Manage construction subcontractors to ensure packages meet JEG and project standards, including progress updates and performance issues.
• Chair weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and document minutes.
• Provide input to the JEG Subcontractor assessment procedure post-project handover.
• Coordinate with the MEP Manager and third-party plant and specialist systems suppliers to ensure suitable interfaces.
• Ensure construction site teams use the latest revisions of IFC documentation in coordination with relevant managers.
• Liaise and coordinate builders’ work requirements with site Construction stakeholders and the BIM Team.
• Ensure adherence to all EHS and QA/QC requirements by the team and subcontractors.
• Manage, coordinate, and generate red-line drawings for as-built updates and submissions.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC Team to ensure client representative site installation inspections are approved.
• Manage, coordinate, and prepare MR’s/RFQs for construction materials.
• Chair weekly meetings with JEG project department leads and arrange minutes.
• Provide detailed input to the Project Controls Engineer for weekly Progress Report development.
• Liaise with the commercial team to provide technical information and backup on variations.
• Escalate construction issues affecting project schedule or execution plans to the Line Manager.
• Provide input to the Project Change Management process.
• Handover and deliver systems to the Testing/Commissioning team, ensuring adherence to project standards.
• Ensure HSE requirements are observed in all construction activities.
• Navigate the BIM Navis model to assist with duties (training provided).
• Provide regular input to the continuous improvement log and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure awareness and compliance with QSP’s in the JEG Group Quality Library.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant construction management role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing all site construction aspects of mechanical projects.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate with various stakeholders.
• Experience with constructability reviews, schedule planning, and resource management.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern region. The role involves working within a dynamic engineering services environment, collaborating with various internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver complex projects.
