MEP Manager

About the Role

GH Engage is seeking an MEP Manager to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time role involves overall responsibility for all site MEP technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects, working in conjunction with subordinate discipline Project Engineers and the BIM / Design Team leads. The MEP Manager serves as the primary link between the Engineering site team, BIM / Design team, Project Manager, Construction Managers, and Client Engineering Team Leads.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Pre-Construction Manager and Estimating Team to ensure robust tendering processes.
• Critique tender documentation and pre-construction project handover documentation, identify project risks, and conduct constructability studies with the BIM Team.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure all engineering parameters and calculations align with project requirements and local/mandatory codes.
• Manage and coordinate RIBA stage drawings (if design and build), discipline shop drawings, and as-built drawing processes to Code A status.
• Prepare design/engineering programs in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Controls Engineer, Client Consultants, and Specialist contractors.
• Provide day-to-day liaison with client consultants and the engineering discipline team.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Project Engineering Plan.
• Prepare sub-contractor Scope of Works documentation in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Establish project client consultant and overall engineering deliverable requirements.
• Manage Discipline Project Engineers daily and ensure all construction design/execution issues are addressed.
• Provide input to the Project Change Management process and the Risks and Opportunities Register.
• Manage and review engineering studies, coordinating third-party studies as applicable.
• Coordinate with the BIM Team and discipline engineers for material take-off validation.
• Oversee coordination of all MEP services for clash mitigation and manage builders’ work requirements.
• Manage and coordinate the preparation of engineering and material submittals to Code A status.
• Assist with verification and inspection of systems in line with approved submittals and design.
• Provide technical support to Construction Managers to ensure installations meet design specifications.
• Study project specifications, identify variations, and track them through the RFI process.
• Manage preparation and coordination of MR’s / RFQs for the Procurement department.
• Arrange and attend weekly meetings, preparing minutes for records.
• Coordinate with the Project Controls Engineer for weekly Progress Report development.
• Liaise with the commercial team to provide technical information and backup on variations.
• Monitor progress and status of RFI's and document control.
• Manage red-line drawings and as-built drawings in coordination with relevant teams.
• Manage MEP systems O&Ms to Code A status and coordinate client training requirements with the Commissioning team.
• Escalate engineering issues affecting project schedule or execution plans to the Project Manager.
• Supervise, develop, and mentor project staff, ensuring HSE requirements are observed.
• Provide regular input to the continuous improvement log and ensure compliance with QSP’s.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage all technical and engineering aspects of MEP projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering parameters, calculations, and local/mandatory codes.
• Experience with BIM processes and coordination.
• Proficiency in managing project documentation, including drawings, submittals, and reports.
