About the Role

Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking a QA/QC Engineer Mechanical & Welding (Site) for a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern Region. This role is responsible for ensuring that all site mechanical, fabrication, installation, and welding activities adhere to approved procedures, project specifications, relevant codes, and client quality requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to safe, compliant, and right-first-time project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement approved quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and procedures for mechanical and welding site activities.
• Inspect and witness incoming materials, fit-up, alignment, welding, erection, installation, pressure testing, reinstatement, and mechanical completion activities.
• Verify materials, components, consumables, Material Test Certificates (MTCs), traceability, and preservation requirements.
• Review welding documentation, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), welder qualifications, weld maps, repair logs, and consumable records.
• Ensure welding is performed by qualified welders using approved procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of piping, equipment, supports, and welded joints.
• Coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, including Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant Testing (PT), and review reports for compliance.
• Maintain inspection reports, punch lists, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective action records, and turnover dossiers.
• Monitor hydrotest, leak test, flushing, box-up, reinstatement, and mechanical completion readiness.
• Identify non-conforming work and follow corrective and preventive actions through closure.
• Coordinate inspections and resolve quality issues with clients, third parties, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Support audits, quality awareness initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to reduce rework.

Role Scope and Travel

The role encompasses comprehensive quality control activities, from initial material inspection through to mechanical completion and turnover documentation. This position requires significant travel, with approximately 70–80% of time spent on project sites. Relocation may be required to various project sites within the Middle East region.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in QA/QC engineering, specifically within mechanical and welding disciplines, preferably in an industrial or project site environment.

Work Location
