About ABB and the Role

ABB is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role contributes to ABB's mission of enabling industries to operate leaner and cleaner. The successful candidate will be part of the Energy Industries Division, which provides integrated solutions to a diverse range of industrial sectors.

The Energy Industries Division

The Energy Industries Division serves sectors including hydrocarbons, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation, and water. It delivers integrated solutions that automate, digitalize, and electrify operations, supporting traditional industries in decarbonization efforts and fostering the development, integration, and scaling up of new and renewable energy models. Leveraging over 50 years of domain expertise, alongside data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, the division aims to improve energy, process, and production efficiency, reduce risk, operational and capital costs, and minimize waste throughout the entire plant lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute complex automation service activities, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, retrofits, repairs, and end-of-life support, both remotely and on-site, ensuring compliance with ABB standards, quality, and safety regulations.
• Deliver customer support by building client relationships, ensuring service quality, understanding customer needs, and identifying opportunities to promote ABB’s service portfolio and generate new business.
• Lead technical problem-solving efforts by diagnosing complex system and equipment issues, performing root-cause analysis, recommending corrective actions, and implementing preventive measures to enhance system reliability and performance.
• Prepare and support engineering proposals, project estimates, risk assessments, and service documentation, while contributing to knowledge management and the continuous improvement of operational processes, products, and customer service.
• Coordinate service resources, materials, parts, and equipment to ensure effective project execution, maintaining high standards of health, safety, integrity, and cross-functional process compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in system engineering or a closely related field, with demonstrated expertise in complex automation service activities and technical problem-solving.
