About the Role

APEX Resources is seeking a Service Delivery Coordinator specializing in directional drilling operations. This contract position, based in Dammam, Eastern region, is for a duration of six months, with an immediate start for the successful candidate. The role involves coordinating and managing directional drilling operations to ensure alignment with client requirements, operational performance targets, and HSE standards. The Service Delivery Coordinator serves as the primary interface between field teams, engineering, and the client.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily directional drilling operations and support real-time decision-making processes.
• Manage and provide support to Directional Drilling (DD), Measurement While Drilling (MWD), and Logging While Drilling (LWD) field engineers.
• Ensure all operations align with the client's drilling program and objectives.
• Monitor drilling performance, including Rate of Penetration (ROP), Non-Productive Time (NPT), and trajectory compliance, driving optimization efforts.
• Maintain strong communication and relationship management with clients.
• Ensure accurate reporting and high data quality throughout operations.
• Lead pre-job planning activities, including well program review, Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) selection, and risk assessment.
• Oversee the execution phase, focusing on performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Ensure comprehensive post-job reporting, documentation, and capture of lessons learned.
• Provide guidance and coaching to field engineers and multi-discipline teams, ensuring operational discipline.
• Act as the focal point for operational escalations and critical decisions.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of Directional Drilling (DD) experience is required. Experience in Saudi Arabia, particularly within an Aramco environment, is highly preferred. Experience with High Temperature/High Pressure (HTHP) wells is also highly preferred, along with a background in Rotary Steerable System (RSS) and motor drilling operations.
• Field of Experience: Proven experience in Directional Drilling (DD), MWD/LWD operations, and Well Construction/Drilling Services.
• Industry Background: Oil & Gas – Drilling Services (Directional Drilling).
• Accreditations: A valid driving license and H2S certification are essential. IWCF / IADC certification is preferred.
• Nationality: Open to any nationality.
• Restrictions: Candidates currently engaged in sensitive contracts with Baker Hughes (direct competitors) may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Technical Skills and Core Competencies

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in directional drilling and trajectory control, BHA design (RSS / Motors), vibration mitigation, torque & drag analysis, hole cleaning, real-time data monitoring, and drilling software.
• Core Competencies: Strong operational decision-making capabilities under pressure, excellent communication and reporting skills, proven ability to proactively manage client expectations, and a focus on minimizing NPT and improving drilling efficiency.
• HSE & Compliance: Demonstrated commitment to ensuring compliance with company and client HSE requirements and promoting a strong safety culture across all operations.

Work Environment and Challenges

This role is primarily office-based, with occasional field and client site visits as required. The working environment is dynamic, supporting real-time drilling activities. Expected challenges include high-pressure operational decision-making, managing real-time drilling performance issues, aligning with client expectations, and continuously minimizing NPT while optimizing drilling efficiency. Exposure to field environments during site visits necessitates strict adherence to HSE protocols. On-the-job training, internal systems and processes training, and HSE compliance training will be provided.
