About the Role

Pace | Architecture, Engineering + Planning is seeking a dedicated Business Development Officer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to implementing and supporting the firm's strategic business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience, contributing to the growth and market positioning of Pace within the architecture, engineering, and planning sectors.

Role Purpose and Strategic Contribution

The Business Development Officer plays a crucial role in executing Pace's approved long-term business development strategy. This involves actively assisting in the formulation of strategic plans and supporting various business development activities throughout the bidding process. The role is instrumental in fostering client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring Pace maintains a competitive advantage in the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement the business development strategic plan in alignment with Pace’s long-term objectives.
• Assist in establishing and supporting the annual business development strategy and action plan.
• Support BD activities during the bidding process, including client networking, project initiation, shortlisting, prequalification, project positioning, proposal review, and client communication.
• Prepare prequalification documents, expressions of interest, and respond to client queries.
• Gather and analyze market data, update the BD tracker/CRM system, and prepare relevant reports, including monthly progress and annual BD reports.
• Provide insights for developing successful bidding strategies and assist in live bidding cycles, ensuring client requirements and bidding instructions are met.
• Ensure full implementation of Pace's health and safety policies and procedures within the firm and across projects.

Client Engagement and Market Intelligence

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients for both ongoing and new projects, optimizing client satisfaction.
• Facilitate and build relationships with governmental authorities and private sector clients to enhance overall business development efforts, keeping relevant directors apprised.
• Optimize the Pace brand and secure competitive advantage to support the highest levels of client satisfaction during project stages and after project completion.
• Manage public relations and client interface to promote a positive corporate image among existing firms and potential clients/markets.
• Conduct market studies, gather technical data (drawings, reports), and understand market pipeline projects through various channels.
• Develop and update contact lists for all current and future clients, providing comments to the BD team.
• Search for new business development opportunities for Pace through liaising with personal and professional networks.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in business development, preferably within the architecture, engineering, or planning industry.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in gathering and analyzing market data, and utilizing CRM systems for tracking and reporting.
• Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on ethical and positive interaction at all levels.
• Understanding and implementation of daily business protocol and etiquette in behavior, language, and professional appearance.
