About the Role

HCLTech is seeking a CICS Operator to provide first-level (L1) operational support for CICS environments. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is crucial for ensuring system availability and prompt incident response. The role involves adhering to standard runbooks and escalation procedures to maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor CICS regions, transactions, queues, and system alerts to ensure continuous operation.
Perform daily operator activities, including executing console commands and handling system messages.
Monitor job execution and coordinate effectively with batch scheduling teams.
Manage initial incident response, which includes CICS region restarts and conducting basic system checks.
Execute fundamental CICS commands (CEMT) for status verification and initiating/stopping actions.
Monitor the status of files, queues, and transactions within the CICS environment.
Coordinate with DB2, Control-M, and middleware teams to resolve operational issues.
Support Disaster Recovery (DR) activities, including CICS region startup and failover execution.
Escalate unresolved issues to L2 teams, providing comprehensive details and relevant logs.
Maintain accurate shift handover reports and detailed incident logs.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mainframe operations and support, coupled with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

8–15 years of experience in mainframe operations or support roles.
Proven experience in 24x7 production support environments.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts as required by operational needs.

Experience Level

This role requires candidates with 5-10 years of professional experience in relevant fields.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within a critical operational support team, requiring adaptability to rotational shifts to ensure continuous service delivery.
