Central Sterilization Services Specialist

About the Role

King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) in Riyadh is seeking a Central Sterilization Services Specialist. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, decontamination, and sterilization of instruments and equipment, as well as maintaining a safe environment for sterile stock. The position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competent technical skills in handling, cleaning, and decontaminating soiled instruments and equipment from the OR and other departments.
• Exhibit proficient technical skills in the preparation of surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization.
• Apply knowledge of all sterilization methods utilized at KKESH.
• Implement sterilization quality assurance processes, evaluate outcomes, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
• Understand and apply principles for the proper handling and storage of sterilized items.
• Demonstrate understanding and correct application of stock control processes.
• Recognize and adhere to guidelines for aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment.
• Prioritize and plan daily activities, ensuring timely and organized completion in accordance with KKESH standards.
• Continuously evaluate technical practice, re-assess, and modify work plans as indicated, providing recommendations to the Head Nurse for skills development training.
• Complete documentation accurately, concisely, and legibly, reflecting KKESH work process standards.
• Perform all duties professionally, effectively, and confidentially.
• Undertake other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to provide team leadership or coverage in the absence of the CSSU Head Nurse.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) in Riyadh. The role operates within the Central Sterilization Services Unit (CSSU), supporting various hospital departments including the Operating Room.
