About the Role

alfanar is seeking a Clearance Specialist, Supply Chain to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role is central to managing all customs clearance activities for both import and export shipments, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards and internal company requirements. The specialist will play a critical role in facilitating smooth operations through accurate documentation and timely clearance processes to support overall operational needs.

Core Clearance Operations

  • Process all import and export documentation in strict accordance with customs regulations and internal company guidelines.
  • Submit clearance applications to relevant authorities and diligently follow up on approval statuses.
  • Verify the accuracy of HS codes, tariff classifications, and duty calculations for all shipments.

Stakeholder Coordination and Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to ensure timely shipment clearance and delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to provide regular shipment status updates and proactively resolve any clearance-related issues.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound shipment schedules to consistently meet operational timelines.
  • Adhere to all applicable customs laws, trade regulations, and company policies across all clearance activities.
  • Stay continuously updated on changes to customs rules, tariffs, and international trade agreements.
  • Support internal and external audits and inspections conducted by customs or other regulatory bodies.

Documentation, Reporting, and Issue Resolution

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive shipment and clearance documents, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and permits.
  • Archive all clearance records meticulously for future reference and compliance verification.
  • Address and resolve clearance-related delays or discrepancies in coordination with suppliers, carriers, and relevant authorities.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the Section Manager or Manager for appropriate action.
  • Record and report key clearance-related data, such as lead times, costs, and occurrences of delays.
  • Propose ideas and solutions for enhancing clearance efficiency and reducing associated costs.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in customs clearance or supply chain operations. A strong understanding of customs regulations, trade compliance, and logistics processes is essential for success in this position.
