Position Overview

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant – Family Medicine (Geriatrics) to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on providing comprehensive geriatric care to older adults, integrating both in-person clinic visits and telemedicine services. The consultant will address the unique medical, functional, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of patients, managing a wide spectrum of acute and chronic conditions.

Role Scope and Patient Care

The primary objective of this role is to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care, ensuring continuity and coordination across diverse care settings. This includes the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of complex geriatric conditions such as multimorbidity, polypharmacy, frailty, and dementia. The consultant will apply population health and value-based care principles to enhance clinical outcomes, optimize healthcare resources, and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care for the aging population.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care for older adults through in-person clinic visits and virtual assessments, covering diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for acute and chronic conditions.
• Conduct thorough clinical evaluations, including history taking, physical or virtual assessment, medication review, and geriatric assessment.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, incorporating medication optimization, preventive care, lifestyle interventions, and referrals.
• Manage complex geriatric conditions, ensuring continuity and coordination of care across both physical and virtual channels.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, caregivers, and community services to provide integrated, patient-centered care.
• Utilize digital health technologies alongside standard in-clinic systems for consultations and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Promote healthy aging through preventive care, chronic disease management, and population health initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing clear guidance on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Uphold the highest standards of patient safety by adhering to established clinical safety protocols across all patient interactions.

Quality Assurance and Professional Development

• Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, regulatory, and telemedicine standards, maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation.
• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practice, in-clinic and telemedicine regulations, and geriatric care through continuous professional development.
• Contribute to clinical governance by participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the clinic's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and telemedicine platforms, including video consultations and secure communication.
• Participate in ongoing training and adopt platform enhancements and digital health best practices.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in Family Medicine with a focus on geriatric care, encompassing both in-person and telemedicine practices.
