Director of Loss Prevention

About the Role

Boutique Group is seeking a Director of Loss Prevention for The Red Palace in Riyadh. This full-time role is responsible for managing daily security operations, ensuring the safety and protection of all property assets, employees, and guests. The Director will focus on accident and fire prevention, emergency response, and maintaining a secure environment throughout the property. The position requires 2-5 years of experience.

Role Context at The Red Palace

The Red Palace, a historic landmark in Riyadh built in 1943, has been reimagined as an ultra-luxury boutique hotel. It blends historical elegance with contemporary sophistication, offering a unique experience that honors its legacy while providing modern luxury. The Director of Loss Prevention plays a critical role in upholding the safety and security standards expected in such an environment. This role ensures compliance with legal requirements and Standard Operating Procedures, driving continuous improvement in guest and employee safety and satisfaction. The HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) Manager reports directly to this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily security operations, including deployment of security staff to monitor and protect property assets.
• Develop and implement emergency procedures, and recommend follow-up actions for security breaches.
• Conduct investigations of all losses of property assets and refer to management for disposition.
• Oversee colleague housing and conduct periodic patrols of the entire property and parking areas.
• Comply with all Corporate Security safety and security management guidelines and procedures.
• Identify and recommend actions for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices, implementing action plans to monitor and control risk.
• Maintain required reports and documentation regarding property patrols and ensure timely medical attention is available.
• Conduct hourly employee performance appraisals and disciplinary procedures according to SOPs and LSOPs.
• Maintain first aid and CPR certifications for Security officers and implement local authority requirements for security and safety.
• Lead security health and safety teams, communicating the importance of safety procedures and monitoring related processes.
• Handle guest problems and complaints, resolving disputes and conflicts.
• Ensure exceptional customer service by incorporating guest safety and satisfaction into departmental meetings.
• Assist in minimizing the cost of accident claims through aggressive claims management and oversee property policies fairly and consistently.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with local law enforcement authorities.
• Provide guidance in setting health and safety policies and standards.

Leadership and Team Development

• Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage team members, advocating for sound financial and business decision-making.
• Solicit employee feedback, maintain an "open door" policy, and review employee satisfaction results to address concerns.
• Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
• Identify developmental needs of others and provide coaching, mentoring, or other assistance to improve knowledge and skills.
• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Serve as a role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviors and championing the Company’s legacy values and competencies.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 4 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage daily security operations effectively.
• Strong understanding of accident and fire prevention, and emergency response protocols.
• Ability to maintain logs, certifications, and documentation in compliance with legal requirements and SOPs.
• Proficiency in identifying educational needs and developing training programs for security staff.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate information and solve problems.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at The Red Palace in Riyadh. The role involves working within a luxury hospitality environment, requiring a focus on maintaining high standards of safety, security, and guest satisfaction. The Director will collaborate with various departments and external authorities to ensure a secure and compliant operation.
