The Role of Engineering Manager

FAENA is seeking a Full-time Engineering Manager to oversee all technical operations in Ad Diriyah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is central to ensuring the flawless performance of all systems, spaces, and installations. The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering team, supporting both pre-opening and ongoing operations to uphold FAENA’s ultra-luxury standards, ensure seamless guest experiences, drive operational efficiency, and maintain regulatory compliance. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of all hotel engineering systems, including MEP, building management, and technical equipment, ensuring flawless performance.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to protect property assets, minimize downtime, and maintain luxury standards.
• Address technical challenges with precision and discretion, aiming to minimize any impact on guest experience.
• Ensure strict adherence to Saudi regulations, fire and life safety standards, and environmental requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and emergency preparedness exercises.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, service logs, and compliance records.
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimize energy, water, and resource efficiency without compromising luxury service quality.
• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on budget management, CAPEX, and vendor contracts.
• Work with other departments to align technical operations with guest experiences and brand standards.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement to uphold FAENA’s standards of artistry.

Pre-Opening and Team Leadership

• Support the commissioning, testing, and handover processes for all hotel systems prior to opening.
• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure operational readiness and confidence.
• Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), schedules, and departmental protocols that align with FAENA’s technical standards and culture.
• Lead, coach, and inspire the engineering team, fostering accountability and a culture of excellence.
• Partner with operations teams to anticipate needs, align priorities, and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development of team members, including Saudi nationals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as an engineering professional within luxury or ultra-luxury hospitality.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MEP systems, life safety protocols, preventive maintenance, and general hotel operations.
• Prior pre-opening experience is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership capabilities combined with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi regulations, safety standards, and labor compliance.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
