Role Overview

The Lead Specialist, Autonomous Platforms II, will lead specialized technical solutions within the Sustainability & Resource Growth division. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, focuses on the design, development, and deployment of autonomous platforms to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and innovation. The specialist will manage complex initiatives, ensuring the scalability and reliability of autonomous systems, and enabling business value through advanced technologies and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design of autonomous platform architectures, including the integration of robotics, IoT, AI, and control systems. Define technical standards, design patterns, and system architectures aligned with enterprise and innovation strategies, ensuring solutions are scalable and modular.
Oversee the technical design and implementation of autonomous platforms and systems, guiding multidisciplinary delivery teams (engineering, data/AI, operations) to ensure effective deployment into operational environments.
Ensure seamless integration across sensors, control systems, data platforms, and analytics layers, coordinating between Operational Technology (OT) and IT systems to enable real-time and intelligent operations.
Maintain high performance, reliability, and resilience of autonomous systems by defining monitoring frameworks, operational performance benchmarks, and KPIs, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational risk requirements.
Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise governance frameworks, cybersecurity requirements, and regulatory standards, identifying and managing risks related to autonomous systems deployment and scaling.
Collaborate with Innovation, Operations, Engineering, and Data & AI teams to ensure integrated delivery, translating business and operational requirements into technical autonomous platform solutions.
Drive continuous improvement of autonomous platform capabilities, tools, and methodologies, assessing emerging technologies such as AI-driven automation, robotics, digital twins, and edge computing to enhance operational efficiency.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in leading technical solutions for autonomous platforms. The position requires a strong background in areas such as robotics, IoT, AI, control systems, and the integration of OT and IT systems within industrial environments.
