Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

MAFAS-Mahmal Facilities Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing the maintenance and operation of mechanical systems within various facilities, with a strong focus on shopping malls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in facility management, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, ventilation systems, plumbing systems, and other mechanical equipment.
• Oversee mechanical maintenance operations in shopping malls, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for visitors, tenants, and employees.
• Monitor HVAC performance and indoor environmental conditions across retail areas, common areas, food courts, and other mall facilities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems and ensure timely resolution of breakdowns and technical issues.
• Coordinate with technicians, subcontractors, suppliers, and mall management to ensure efficient maintenance operations with minimal disruption to mall activities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify potential failures, and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
• Prepare maintenance reports, inspection records, and technical documentation.
• Follow up on work orders, breakdowns, and maintenance requests to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, technical standards, and facility maintenance procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and overall facility performance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Previous experience in Facility Management is required, with at least 5 years in a similar role.
• Previous experience in malls is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chillers, ventilation, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Knowledge of HSE requirements and maintenance standards.
