About NTU International and the Project Context

NTU International A/S is currently preparing a proposal for the project titled "Communication outreach and engagement on EU policies in North Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf". In support of this initiative, NTU International is establishing a pool of qualified Non-Key Experts, including both Senior and Junior profiles. These experts will be mobilized on a short-term, on-demand basis throughout the project's 36-month implementation period.

The Role: Media Relations Coordinator

We are seeking a Media Relations Coordinator to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This part-time role is integral to providing strategic, technical, and logistical communication support to DG MENA. The primary objective is to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of day-to-day communication activities, thereby strengthening the visibility, outreach, and impact of the European Union's policies, initiatives, and partnerships across the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf region.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning and coordination of press activities, including press trips, media briefings, and press conferences.
• Liaise effectively with journalists, various media outlets, and communication partners.
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of press releases, media advisories, and comprehensive press packs.
• Maintain and regularly update media contact databases and distribution lists.
• Coordinate media logistics and accreditation processes for events.
• Monitor media coverage and contribute to the preparation of press reviews and media reports.
• Assist communication teams in the implementation of media outreach activities.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for media relations initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A degree (or equivalent qualification) in journalism, communication, or media studies.
• A minimum of 2 years of general experience in media or press relations.
• At least 1 year of specific experience coordinating press activities, which includes press trips, preparing press packs, and journalist liaison.

Work Arrangement and Location

This is a part-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves mobilization on a short-term, on-demand basis as required by project needs.
