QA/QC Engineer

About the Role

UCC Holding is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh Region. This full-time role is essential for ensuring that all work and projects adhere to established good work practices and project specifications, consistently meeting or exceeding client expectations. The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for implementing international quality standards and procedures across all construction activities.

Role Overview

The primary objective of this position is to maintain high-quality standards throughout construction projects. The QA/QC Engineer will play a key role in developing and refining the Project Quality Management System by establishing necessary procedures, plans, and work instructions. This involves a proactive approach to quality assurance and control, ensuring compliance from material inspection to final project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project QA/QC Manager or Sr. QA/QC Engineer in implementing the quality management system at the site.
• Prepare and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIR) for each construction activity to the consultant.
• Verify all incoming materials against project specifications and approved material submittals.
• Monitor WIRs and test reports, providing status updates to the Quality Manager and site team.
• Establish and oversee the control of QA/QC Plans, Method Statements, and Test Plans.
• Ensure document control procedures are implemented and approved documents are properly distributed.
• Check Inspection and Test Plans, confirming that method statements and test plans are submitted according to the approved ITP.
• Verify that work inspections are conducted as planned and advise the construction team on necessary corrective actions.
• Perform internal material inspections before consultant inspection and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to suppliers for substandard materials.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all work and material inspections, providing data for weekly progress meetings.
• Record test results and ensure the availability of steel mill certificates and test logs.
• Support Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in a relevant QA/QC role.
• Demonstrated understanding of international quality standards and construction quality procedures.
• Ability to prepare and manage quality documentation, including WIRs, ITPs, and NCRs.
• Strong attention to detail for material and work inspections.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, where the QA/QC Engineer will work closely with project managers, site teams, and consultants to uphold quality standards across various construction activities. The role requires active participation in site operations and adherence to safety protocols.
