AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is integral to our building services sector, with a specific focus on electrical engineering design for entertainment projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring design compliance with industry standards and providing essential technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and other specialized electrical installations for various building types such as offices, residential, and commercial properties.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings and schematics, ensuring adherence to applicable building codes and regulations.
• Specify materials and components, including cables, transformers, panels, and switchgear.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall building design.
• Conduct site assessments to accurately understand project requirements and constraints.
• Work closely with contractors and other teams during construction and installation phases to ensure designs are properly implemented.
• Assist with project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities.
• Provide technical support throughout the construction and commissioning phases of projects.
• Perform electrical load calculations and energy analysis to optimize design efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure all designs comply with local codes, international standards (BS, IEC, IET, NEC, NFPA, CIBSE, IESNA, ISO), and specific client requirements.
• Conduct regular design reviews and verify compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure designs remain current and compliant.
• Resolve any electrical design-related issues that may arise during construction or operation.
• Offer solutions to challenges concerning electrical system integration, functionality, or cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical engineering design within the building services sector, with demonstrated experience in entertainment projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, emergency systems, and renewable energy integration.
• Familiarity with the local country codes of Middle East and Gulf countries is required.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable electrical systems.
• Professional accreditation or membership (*, IET, CIBSE, or equivalent) is considered an advantage.
