Senior Internal Auditor

About the Role

Mina Excellence is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves planning and conducting risk-based internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls, operational processes, corporate governance, risk management, and compliance practices. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose

The Senior Internal Auditor will contribute to strengthening the organization's internal audit framework. This includes identifying control weaknesses and financial risks, providing objective assessments, and offering practical recommendations. The primary goal is to safeguard organizational assets, enhance accountability, and improve overall operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual risk-based internal audit plan covering financial, operational, governance, and compliance activities.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and corporate governance frameworks.
• Review financial reporting controls, accounting processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Assess controls over budgeting, treasury, cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial closing.
• Evaluate expenditure approvals, payment authorizations, bank reconciliations, segregation of duties, and compliance with delegated authorities.
• Conduct audits of procurement, supplier management, contracts, and other critical business processes to identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and financial risks.
• Assess compliance with applicable laws, regulations, corporate policies, procedures, and approved governance frameworks.
• Identify potential fraud risks, financial irregularities, and control deficiencies, recommending appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Prepare comprehensive internal audit reports outlining key findings, risk exposure, root causes, and practical recommendations.
• Communicate significant audit findings and risk-related matters to the designated oversight authority and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor and verify the implementation of agreed corrective actions to ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Coordinate with external auditors and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls, risk management, and operational effectiveness.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years and up to 10 years of experience in internal audit or a related field.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Mina Excellence team.
