Traffic Engineer

About the Role

Al-Enjaz Company is seeking a Traffic & Road Safety Engineer to join its Engineering Projects / Roads and Transportation Department in Riyadh. This full-time role requires a Saudi national with 5-10 years of experience in traffic and road safety engineering.

Role Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to plan, implement, and monitor traffic and road safety engineering standards within road and infrastructure projects. The engineer will ensure compliance with approved specifications from the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing (or Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services) and municipalities. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Impact Assessments (TIAs) to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow during and after project implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and approve Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and road safety plans for work sites, ensuring compliance with approved guidelines from municipalities/ministries and the General Directorate of Traffic.
• Conduct field supervision of work zone setups, including warning signs, directional signs, concrete and rubber barriers, road markings, and flashing warning devices, and ensure their regular maintenance.
• Perform regular field inspections and Road Safety Audits, documenting observations and violations, and ensuring immediate corrective actions by contractors/implementation teams.
• Conduct technical investigations into traffic accidents within the project scope or road right-of-way, analyze their causes, and propose engineering solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Prepare periodic and technical reports on performance levels, road safety, and the progress of traffic diversions and permits for project management and the client.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation and Traffic Engineering from a recognized university.

• Professional Accreditation:

  • Valid registration and accreditation with the Saudi Council of Engineers (Professional or Associate Engineer level).
  • Valid accreditation as an approved engineer with the Municipality or Ministry (Regional Municipality or Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing / Ministry of Transport).

• Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic and road safety engineering.
  • Proven practical experience in municipal, governmental, or Ministry of Transport projects.
