About Sifi and the AI Engineer Role

Sifi is developing a corporate expense management platform designed to provide accounting teams with control over company spending. This platform enables companies to issue cards with precise spending restrictions, automate expense workflows, and streamline financial closing processes. As the company scales, Artificial Intelligence is becoming central to delivering financial intelligence, automation, and trust to its customers. Sifi is seeking a full-time AI Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join its Data & AI team in Riyadh, Ar Riyad.

Role Overview and Contribution

This is a hands-on, end-to-end position where the successful candidate will own problems from initial prototype through to production deployment. The role involves working across the full technology stack, encompassing LLM pipelines, agent workflows, backend infrastructure, and the internal tooling required for production readiness. The domain focuses on structured, high-stakes financial data, where precision and correctness are critical. The AI Engineer will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams to develop AI features that directly influence how hundreds of companies manage their finances.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy AI-powered features from prompt engineering and model integration to backend APIs and frontend interfaces.
• Construct and maintain AI infrastructure for LLM inference, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and structured data extraction from financial documents.
• Develop autonomous agent workflows to automate finance operations, including expense categorization, receipt reconciliation, and policy enforcement.
• Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure AI systems are built upon clean, trusted, and well-modeled financial data.
• Create internal tooling and evaluation frameworks to measure, monitor, and enhance model performance in production environments.
• Monitor advancements in AI and integrate relevant techniques, such as fine-tuning, tool use, and multi-agent orchestration, into Sifi's technology stack to generate value.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated strong engineering fundamentals across backend systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, with comfort in owning the full lifecycle of a production AI feature.
• Hands-on experience building with Large Language Models (LLMs) in production, including prompt design, RAG pipelines, structured extraction, or Agentic systems.
• Comfort working with financial or compliance-sensitive data, where correctness and auditability are essential.
• A pragmatic approach to shipping, characterized by moving quickly, making informed trade-offs, and iterating based on real-world feedback.
• A low-ego, high-ownership mindset, demonstrating comfort in debugging edge cases as well as proposing new system architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the fintech or expense management domains.
• Previous experience at an early-stage startup or within a small, high-velocity team.
