Allergan Aesthetics Medical Science Liaison (Saudi National)

About the Role

AbbVie is seeking an Allergan Aesthetics Medical Science Liaison to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for managing current and upcoming Medical Aesthetics portfolios and their associated indications. The position involves leading scientific exchange with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and driving Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement, contributing to the overall competency of Medical Affairs.

Position Overview

The Medical Science Liaison develops and maintains professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive medical and scientific support for Allergan initiatives. This includes executing the Medical Affairs plan for Saudi Arabia and the MEA region, and leading scientific education and training initiatives across the Allergan Aesthetics portfolio. The role is non-promotional, focusing on providing fair and balanced scientific information to HCPs regarding current and future therapies. This position requires field visits with key physicians, organizing advisory board meetings, and facilitating clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive business planning activities.
• Conduct internal and external training and education programs.
• Identify, develop, and engage thought leaders.
• Assess the feasibility of clinical studies.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance regulations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the therapy area.
• Advise on brand strategy and tactical planning in collaboration with marketing.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Qualifications: A medical degree (MD) or an advanced science degree (PhD) is strongly preferred. Candidates with a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (*, Pharmacy) may be considered based on prior work experience.
• Relevant Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required. Specialized therapeutic area expertise in Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, or Medical Aesthetics is preferred. Experience in medical affairs activities such as advisory board management and scientific exchange is essential.
• Market Understanding: Good understanding of the local market and multinational cultural working environments.
• KOL Engagement: Proven experience in establishing and developing strong influential relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
• Internal Candidates: At least 2 years of successful track record within AbbVie.

• Compliance: Adherence to all business ethics and applicable regulations to maintain personal credibility and integrity.
• Technical Skills: Proficient computer skills, including MS Office.

Work Environment

This position is based in Riyadh and requires willingness to travel as necessary for business purposes. The role involves working closely with other Allergan personnel to ensure the scientific and technical training needs of commercial organizations are met.
