The Role of an Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher is responsible for the direct observation and monitoring of children, ensuring their safety and attending to their needs. This role involves creating and maintaining an attractive, healthy, and clean setting for childcare activities. The Assistant Teacher will also contribute to organizing various educational and recreational activities and preparing lessons in a professional manner, supporting the overall development of the children.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor children, ensuring their safety and attending to all their needs.
• Provide an attractive, healthy, and clean environment for childcare and activities.
• Prepare and deliver lessons and activities as assigned.
• Interact professionally with children/students, utilizing a calm voice, maintaining good eye contact, and offering positive motivation.
• Maintain accountability for the children/students under their direct care.
• Answer parents’ questions regarding their children’s behavior and activities, as well as general Child Care Center policies and procedures, referring parents to the Supervisor when necessary.
• Demonstrate professionalism and commitment during morning and evening alternate schedules.
• Evaluate children’s progress to assist class teachers and parents in monitoring performance.
• Assist the class teacher in observing and caring for children.
• Prepare lessons, activities, tools, and art projects in a timely manner.
• Prepare and set up educational corners within the childcare facility.
• Organize and arrange classrooms with all necessary items.
• Be willing to work with children of any age group as required.
• Assist in events organized by the Child Care Center.
• Take responsibility for children and groups under their care, if assigned.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within their knowledge and ability.
• Perform all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.

Required Qualifications and Experience
