About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an Associate Building Structures to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading and managing the structural engineering discipline within major projects. The Associate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, drive technical excellence, and ensure the successful delivery of complex building projects.

Role Overview

The Associate Building Structures will be responsible for strategic oversight, team leadership, and active participation in business development to support the growth of the practice. This role requires a professional who can contribute to landmark projects and connect with industry experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for structural engineering teams across multiple projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with international and regional standards.
• Serve as the primary client interface for structural engineering matters, building strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Oversee the development and delivery of structural designs for large-scale and complex building projects, including review and approval of calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Drive innovation and best practices in design methodologies, digital tools, and sustainability initiatives.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Mentor and develop senior engineers, graduate engineers, and BIM teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
• Lead risk management and quality assurance processes, including audits and compliance checks.
• Represent the company in high-level meetings, presentations, and industry forums, contributing to thought leadership and technical strategy.
• Support business development activities, including preparing proposals, bids, and client presentations.
• Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across all structural activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing structural engineering teams on major building projects.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Experience in business development activities, including proposal preparation.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time position within WSP in the Middle East. The successful candidate will work within a global organization, contributing to significant projects and collaborating with professionals in the field.
